Alfred Lund.


Rifleman Alfred Lund was the son of Scandinavian immigrants Ole Olsen LUND and his wife, Ingeborg Marie (nee JOHANNESEN; also known as Mary).

He was killed in action December 1916, at the Somme, and is buried at Y Farm Military Cemetery, Bois-Grenier, Nord, France. He is listed on the Norsewood War Memorial.

NOTE: His brother William James (aka Wilhelm Ole) Lund, serving with the Australian Imperial Force, was also killed in action July 1916, aged 30, and is buried at V.C. Corner Australian Cemetery Memorial, Fromelles, Nord, France. No image available.
